Pancake Meow started almost two years ago when my husband and I moved to Athens Ga.
A friend of mine had come over one day to cheer me up because I had been sick and she brought some polymer clay with her. I had been a fan of polymer clay for years, but was more into sewing and knitting at this time.
It was just so much fun getting back into it and my husband saw how much fun I was having making little donuts and pancakes that he had given me a shoe box filled with polymer clay for my birthday! I started making little charms out of the clay and made them into necklaces.

I joined Live Journal a few months earlier to keep up with my friends in Florida and discovered some craft selling communities there. That's when I decided to try and sell some of my necklaces. They started selling like hot cakes! At this time I had not really developed my craft and was pretty new to making miniature food.
The idea of scenting the necklaces came from my love or Strawberry shortcake miniatures. I loved those dolls when I was a little girl and wanted to make something nostalgic and fun and at the same time create something that was very original and would be a signature of Pancake Meow.
As time progressed and orders started to literally pour in, I decided to quit my day job so I could focus more on Pancake Meow and that's what I have been doing ever since!
I love what I'm doing and I feel really lucky to be doing this and that I am able to make so many people happy with these little goodies. I'm just having so much fun!
