Sassabies was founded by Saskia Charbonneau, a Dutch woman who discovered there was a market for belly sashays for pregnant woman. When Saskia was going through her own pregnancy, she purchased some maternity sashes from Holland and brought them back to her home in San Francisco. Women would ask her where they could buy them and this gave her the idea to bring this exciting concept to the US, and Sassabies was created.
