WHAT WE THOUGHT

Book review of Heart of the Sea by Nora Roberts
Reviewed by Tash Hughes
Heart of the Sea is the final in Roberts’ Irish trilogy, and it is true to her usual form.
However, there is a difference with this book from many of Roberts’ other works. This is the first Roberts series that involves ghosts and supernatural occurrences; that’s not to say it is a fantasy book as it is very much set in the present and with living people.
Yet the interactions with the ghostly couple helps the key characters, Darcy and Trevor, think about their needs and wants.
With Darcy’s rowdy, loving family, the story has a genuine and warmth beyond her relationship with Trevor. The interaction with the couples from the earlier books in this trilogy is more than in other Roberts’ books and helps make this my favourite of her books to date.
Definitely a book to enjoy – preferably in front of an open fire with a glass of red!
