ISBN: 978-1-4027-5305-3
An international award-winning expert on cocktails and one of the world’s most respected bartenders, Calabrese will help you work out why you like certain flavours and how to achieve flavour harmony. He presents more than 340 recipes, from a Sexy Spring Punch with a burst of fresh berries to a lip-smacking Whiskey Sour with a dash of tangy citrus.
You’ll find many new and intriguing recipes-including drinks with a healthy edge to them: carrot, acai berry, basil, pomegranate-along with several favourites that have been given a flavour-infused twist, like the world-renowned Breakfast Martini, a refreshing version that is enlivened with marmalade.
There are also a few tried and true classics as a reminder of how basic flavours are sometimes the best.
Ever see a bartender make a lemon twist and wonder how he does it? Stunning, detailed colour photography will show you how to make one, as well as a spiral, and an apple fan, and how to cut both a wedge and a thin slice of lemon.
Any home bartender library is incomplete without this unique, must-have reference.
WHAT WE THOUGHT

There is nothing like drinking cocktails with the girls, and with the Sex and the City movie released the entire female population will be reconnecting with their besties, and alcohol is likely to be involved. For creating your own cocktails having the right recipe, tools and ingredients are essential.
Salvatore Calabrese is a well known cocktail expert, and has recently released the book “Cocktails by Flavor” This is an essential guide for any cocktail party, and includes everything you need to know – right down to the appropriate glass and garnish for each drink.

Each recipe is sorted according to flavour, and even has unusual creations with garlic and balsamic vinegar. Believe it or not, you can even use herbs and vegetables to create delicious cocktails.
