Each stunning piece is meticulously handcrafted from scratch. A range of fully co-ordinate and matching wedding stationery is readily available, or you can request the design of a completely new range as an exclusive one-off just for you.
The Design: Victorian Elegance
A stunning design using an opal sleeve with Chloe Velour paper, yesteryear ivory lace, gold ribbon followed with ivory ribbon, more gold ribbon then finished with a cream pearl heart buckle.
The Verdict
The invitations are one of the most important parts of the day, without them, you would have no guests to celebrate with you. We wanted invitations to compliment our wedding theme, and to give our friends and family a taste of what was to come.
I have known about Designs on Paper since before I was engaged, and have always loved her style. When I first contacted Angela, I wasn’t sure which design I wanted as there were so many gorgeous designs choose from.
I told Angela about our plans for the wedding and the style of the day, as well as a few of my favourites from her website. She seemed to read my mind, and emailed me the Victorian Elegance image which she happened to be working on at the time.
I fell in love instantly, and showed fiancé and he agreed they were perfect for us. Getting any kind of reaction out of him when it comes to the wedding is usually quite difficult, he is fairly relaxed and easy going about most of the decisions, but when he loved the invitations and stationery as much as I did, I knew they were the ones.
The next step was the wording, which Angela was happy to assist with, and some examples she sent me were:
- ‘Name & Name, together with their families wish to invite’
- ‘Please join Family and Friends in celebrating the marriage of’
- ‘This day I will marry my best friend the one I love and laugh with!(or other poem) Name & Name Along with their parents Sally, Graeme, Christine and Ross (made up people and this can extend to step mums and dads)
- Name & Name Request the company of
We decided to go with: ‘Please join Family and Friends in celebrating the marriage of’ and decided on a semi formal theme for guests.
When all the details were decided on – location, time, RSVP, dress code – we were then sent a sample pack of the printed stationery. If you think they look beautiful in the photo, they look even better in real life.
When the guest list was confirmed, I sent her an excel sheet of guests names and addresses and shortly after received the final completed invitations.
Having all the satin envelopes printed with addresses will save hours of time and frustration, and they look so much more professional and special that way too.
Each invitation comes with an Acceptance Card for guests to fill out and return (hopefully) before the RSVP date. There is a range of stationery available to choose from, including invitations, place cards, and menus; with different styles to suit your theme.
Designs on Paper offer exceptional service, the most gorgeous designs and attention to detail. I could not fault the service in any way; Angela was extremely patient and helpful.
On occasion I have felt frustrated in the lead up to this wedding, as some services expect you to know what you want/need, but if you have never been married it is hard because it is all so new. At Designs on Paper you will feel valued and if you need help with details Angela will go out of her way to assist. Every single invitation is absolutely perfect and I cannot wait to send them to the guests!
